The Geissele Maritime Bolt Catch is designed with the warfighter in mind and will work with any lower receiver designed to accept a mil-spec M16/M4 Carbine bolt catch. The increased surface area promotes ease of function when locking back the bolt or releasing the bolt after a magazine change. In addition, the extended controls add an increased functionality for left handed shooters who no longer have to break their grip to manipulate the bolt catch. Left handed shooters can easily reach the controls using the index finger of their left hand making magazine changes and locking the bolt back much more fast and efficient. Just installed this…. but it is a huge pain in the butt to then change a trigger… especially if its a Geissele and you use their roll pin technique… because this will prevent you kicking out the small roll pin… you can only insert and remove pins from the right side of the lower when this is installed…

This is an awesome product to upgrade with for not much money compared to other upgrades. Gives a very generous amount of surface area on both sides of the lever. Not as necessary on the lower portion but having the extra surface on the part you use to release the bolt is really nice.

It's a bolt catch. Made by Geissele. You really can't get any better. Easy install, Looks fantastic, and functions flawlessly. Just spend the extra $ it's definitely worth it. Need more words so blah blah blah……

Some reviewers complain about this bolt release, but it is my favorite by far. I also have Forward Controls dimple RB, and even though FC is my favorite parts provider, this Maratime release is better and cheaper in my use experience.As with most extended mag releases this one blocks access to hammer pin to some degree…but its really no big deal. I have 4 ARs and 3 have this Maritime on them.

This thing is pretty cool as the added real estate on the catch makes up for sloppy hand work by me. The knurling is substantial and helps out too. Like everything else made by Geissele, this is quality.

It is just the right size. I’ve tried a few different ones and this is by far my favorite.
