These are decent binoculars delivering good, but not stellar optical performance. They offer a decently sharp image across the field of view. The contrast is good. CA is well controlled with only slight green fringing in the center increasing to strong purple and green fringing starting about half way to the edges on a bright, but cloudy day.The objective covers attach through an annoying cord. I prefer ones that attach directly to the binoculars. Otherwise, the build quality is very nice. I like the eye relief and diopter adjustment. The magnesium alloy body gets quite cold in the winter. So, why the mediocre review? I compared these to a pair of Bushnell Engage 10x50s. Although the GPOs are slightly better (barely), they aren’t 4x the price better. Not even close! Under most comparisons, I struggle to see a difference at all. Even in extreme situations, like low light or back lighting, the Bushnells as often as not perform better than the GPOs. The only difference is the GPOs are sharp edge to edge, but I hardly notice this in practice.
