Went to Africa safari excursion for 8 days near Okavango Delta and used this glass to its fullest capacity. We went out to see the animals in early pre dusk and stayed out until sun down conditions and the glass performed exceptionally well. The colors weren’t as vibrant as my friends’ Leupolds or Swarovski glasses but for the price it was just as clear and not too tiring to the eyes. The front pouch carrier also came in handy when I was going back and forth between my cameras and the glass. Thanks to its tether, it also saved it from falling/losing it from an open cab helicopter when I fumbled between camera and binocular. 30% optics bucks back also was a good pickup as it was pretty significant amount to spend for any future purchases.

This review is on the purchase of the binoculars thru Optics Planet. Have not used them enough to review the actual product. Optics Planet is easy to work with. They run amazing sales and generally have the product in stock and ready to ship. Great website that is extremely easy to purchase thru. Email's keep you updated on shipping and tracking.

You can tell this is very high quality glass as soon as you handle it. Crystal clear image from side to side. Not so high powered that you need a tripod to hold, but using one, when practical, would be even better. This is an amazing precision instrument folks. The case however, is not up to par. The lid does not snap down like on most cases. So it is on the risky side. I think I will look for an aftermarket case.
Carrying bag –
Unbelievable clarity. Just a tad heavy and larger than 10×42 but the extra daylight and quality is worth it. The binos are made extremely well and would buy the UHD again. The carrying case that comes with it hangs open and not up against your chest. Did not like it so I purchased another one. I do not recommend the carrying bag but did not buy the binoculars for the bag. And the bag has to many moving parts and does not stay in place. It slides out of the plastic holders where the straps slide

This review is on the storage and not the optics. I have used a chest bino harness for the last 8 years. This new style that doesn’t make a good seal is just a no go for me and something this expensive. I called vortex to talk about it and they simply said this is what it is and offered no solution. I expressed that wasn’t acceptable still no solution. I expressed I would find a aftermarket solution. I purchased a maven large size claim shell case and am very happy with the fit. These binos will never be chest carried and this is a much better solution and should be factory

First, to be perfectly transparent, this was my first time buying high-end binoculars. I've owned several models in the $200 – $500 price point, and was skeptical if shelling out the money was worth it. Taking them out of the box, I immediately noticed the size. I knew they would be significantly larger than my current 8×32 but wasn't expecting them not to fit in my current chest harness. The weight was not bad. I compared to a friend's 10×42 Razor UHDs and it's noticeable, but not much. This may be more obvious when trekking and glassing. Once I adjusted them, I was extremely impressed with the detail. So, to answer my initial question, is there a difference between your standard $500 binos? Yes, a significant one. Is it worth the money? Probably, especially if you're planning on doing a lot of glassing. All in all, I'm happy with the quality for the cost, especially compared to the more expensive options. This was a good option for me to get high-end optics for a price I could stomach.
